This is what the $1 billion dollars was to go towards.

Of particular concern is the approximate $900 million at stake in additional funding for AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB) and Malaria. Without this additional funding, as many as 350,000 people with HIV/AIDS in the 15 focus countries will not receive life-sustaining treatment. Furthermore, nearly 1 million anti-malarial bednets will not be distributed, and 120,000 people will not receive treatment for tuberculosis if the Global Fund is underfunded. Lastly, if fiscal year 2006 funding levels are sustained, the President's Malaria Initiative will lose $130 million. This will have a devastating impact on the Initiative's goal of reducing malaria deaths by 50% in each of the target countries.

Is it really okay to let all these people die?

Is it really okay to spend 900 billion dollars on a war that has no purpose?

It is really okay to let the gov. (local also) get away with how they responded to Katrina?
