Aftermath

Aug 28, 2011 22:08

So, the hurricane is passing.

Every major road and transit system from Albany to Delaware is closed or non-operational, New Jersey and New York City got smashed, and from what I hear, New England isn't faring a whole lot better in a many places. In the Hudson Valley, many places are flooded, power is intermittent and everyone is pretty much on lockdown due to downed trees and closed roads.

However, our power is still on, we had minimal wind and rain, no more than a typical rainy day, and while the wind has picked up now, the rain and clouds are almost entirely gone. Two miles or so surrounding where we live is virtually untouched, except for some minor flooding around the creek. We asked for protection, and received it. Thanks be to the spirits of storm and wind. Hail Irene, ravager of the coasts, turn your wrath away.
