So it's only by the grace of my husband blathering on about some author and his book series that I've never heard of that I was able to save myself from crying. Now that her daddy is dead, I'm curious as to what's going to happen during the next 12 chapters. I wasn't expecting him to die this soon to be honest. And I think it's somewhat sweet that Mia is aware of Rachel's daddy dying (even though like you said she doesn't know the specifics) and is ok with Puck being there for her instead of throwing a hissy fit that he left her sleeping alone in bed.

And you've once again managed to describe a facet of my husband's cat (since you pretty much already got his image down haha). He loves to follow my husband but when I'm in bed or sometimes in my recliner, the cat will curl up with me and rest. My husband likes to call him the traitor cat when that happens.

While her father's illness and her reactions to it are a bit part of this story, they aren't all it is about. There's over three-quarters of the story left (the chapters get a bit longer after the next one), which means there's still quite a lot for Rachel to deal with. And frankly, dragging out Andrew's death seemed both unnecessarily cruel and dramatic, not to mention not always true to life with this particular cancer.

In any case, I hope the rest of the story lives up to your expectations.

Cats are strange, wonderful creatures. :) Thank you for your feedback, darling!

*sad face*

Poor Rachel. I keep waiting for the dam to break. There are 12 chapters left, so I imagine that her grief will become a prevalent character soon.

I really like how good a friend Puck is to her. They don't seem ~that close, really, even if they do have lunch once a week and he has a spare key to her apartment in order to get his booze; I just love that he's always available to help her out in times of need. I know there's a lot of need now on her part, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds and how these two end up as something more than friends.

Fantastic and beautiful writing, per usual. I love that there are 12 more chapters to go! ♥

I could write a million words and still not feel like I'd responded appropriately to this comment, so I'm going to refrain and just say thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and thank you for taking the time to let me know. It means so much to me. ♥

I actually had to pause while reading because I couldn't see through my tears. I honestly don't even know where to begin. My heart just breaks for Rachel, not only because she just lost her daddy, but because she's just so ~alone. Sure, she has lunch with Puck and hangs out with Santana, but they're all busy leading their own lives and having the college experience while she has to deal with something beyond her years and their understanding. Plus, she's been in two limbos, waiting for her Daddy to pass and waiting for New York. It also made me really sad when Puck was all relieved that she said no to going to the party, but she was wishing she could have said yes. *sob* I'm so excited there's 12 chapters to go, and I can't wait to see what happens next! Excellent chapter as always!

I don't necessarily want to make anyone cry, but I kind of like that you had such a strong reaction. Your comment about her living in two limbos is right on the money; plus, those two things are tied to one another, adding another level to each.

Thank you for commenting, doll. ♥
