today I had a nap that I will never forget. It was about 11:00, and I had just gotten out of integrated science. I was as tired as could be, and rather than walking all the way back to my dorm, I stopped at a patch of green grass between Wilcox and the biology labs (you know, the one with the trees with the white petals). The smell was INTOXICATING...the grass was soft, and every time I opened my eyes I saw petals falling like snow. Absolutely perfect. I slept for an hour, got up at around 12:20, and went to lunch.

You know (and this isn't the best example, but...), sometimes in this life, we're exposed to something new, ususual, and wonderful. The best part about it is that usually, we have a choice in the matter: we can reach out to it, change, and fight whatever fear is within us that keeps us stagnant, or we can complain about the bugs, the itchiness of the grass, or the fear that we might be spotted drooling by someone passing by. It's a risk we take (albeit in this case a very small one). However, without the risk, there would be no beauty in this life...nothing to offer to us. The world would be stagnant and dead, and we, in our own fears, would waste away in large quantities of food, or alcohol, or something to make the pain of this life fade into nothing. When really all we have to do to fight the pain is embrace it.

The world has gone mad again, and I'm proud to be right there with it, enjoying every moment.
