With our money from Christmas (and not having to pay for homeowners out of pocket) we got an iheater. It's an infrared heater to help keep the house warmer and costs down. I don't know if this makes as much sense for people who have electric heat, but we use fuel oil and even though we're on the budget plan, it's hard to stomach the fill ups. We'll ( Read more... )

Had a great day. Got out of my PJ's this morning and popped down to do some browsing at Kohls and Maurices. Tried on a bunch of springy dresses and picked out this one and an adorable jacket that was 60% off. Do I really need another jacket? As of tomorrow, we shall have an almost complete household. We went and bought the dining room table tonight and it will come tomorrow morning. Yay! A much better wait than the 6 weeks for the rest of the furniture we got. Girl has to work overnight tonight. It isn't typically part of her job description, but they are getting all new habitats in her department, so she has to be the manager in charge of overseeing the installation. So we needed cheap (but comfortable) furniture, and were resigned to going with something like Big Lots (which was Simmons furniture) but we found something even better! that we are moving in to our house tonight. Our friend said she would help us by using her hubby's truck to move our bed, but now we can't get ahold of her. I've been cleaning and while dusting earlier I knocked over a three drawer box that contains hundreds of coins, dozens of 1 cm diameter beads, rings, and earrings that went sprawling under every surface.
