So last year when I had finished my novel I didn't know what to do with myself. All of my free time was consumed with writing or brainstorming about writing and suddenly I was done and left with nothing to focus on. This year was much easier, I only wrote several days and didn't write any days that I worked, so my free time was, well, free and I only spent some days off writing in a fury of keyboarding goodness. Even still, I feel like something is missing now that I'm done with my book and I need to think of something else to focus on. I know I should be working more on the knitting projects that I have to get ready for Christmas, and I was thinking of other crafty things to do, but they don't seem to fill up my creative void as much as writing, reading, and drawing do. I should think about writing or drawing as gifts this year, since we are scaling back and aren't indulging in the gluttony of the holiday season. Though I am just teaching myself to draw, so that could be interesting for everyone involved.
My back is killing me. For the last two months or so I am in some pretty terrible pain. I'm pretty sure it comes along with my job description and every time it's just starting to get better, the idiot doctor makes me hold for some retarded procedure and I have to wrestle a dog to the ground and jerk my spine again resulting in much pain. My insurance isn't great. I need to see about something soon though if it doesn't improve.
My dog is still broken. We think she has an intense flea allergy and just being exposed is causing her to have horrible skin reactions, this time a staph infection from chewing so much. She's also having this back pain that is really random and she is able to move out of, so by the time she sees the doctor, she's fine, isn't that the way it always goes?
Thanksgiving was great. First course strawberry soup (white wine, strawberries, sour cream, yogurt, and strawberry liquor served chilled), apple-cranberry sorbet, the most delectable prime rib with baked potato, and finished off with chocolate mousse in a crispy shell served with this decadent raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Heaven.
Okay, must to go return an adapter cord to Best Buy and buy cat food. Suppose I should shower and dress seeing how it is 3:30 p.m.
Later days.
