I'm going home up north for several days and will catch up with everyone when I return. This will be my first birthday home in years. I've been busy preparing for my trip this week, so I haven't been able to comment to anyone, but I'll reply when I get back since I won't have internet for several days. See you all some time next week. This is an e-mail I sent to my staff before heading home a couple years ago. It sums it all up nicely.
'I will be headed to the boondocks where there's not even the slightest chance I will have cell phone reception or Internet service. If I am needed, please send up a smoke signal, send a carrier pigeon, shoot off a flare, bang on a drum, light a big fire, tap something in Morse code, borrow Harry Potter's messenger owl, send a telegram, or call Dionne Warwick and she'll deliver a psychic friends communication. If I’m not back on Wed. please send a search party because I’ve either been: a) buried in 6 feet of snow, b) kidnapped by coy dogs, c) lost in a large herd of deer, or d) cornered and poked with sticks by mountain folk.
See ya next week...hopefully.'
