'The Thirteenth Tale,' by Diane Setterfield. Don't ask me how I have managed 5-6 times in a row to find myself reading a book within a book. I go to my shelf and grab one that catches my eye. If I focus too much on which book I'm going to pick or what ones I am not really interested in, I don't end up grabbing one and get caught up with something else. Not only was this yet another book about a story, but similar to many of the last few there was much talk of gardens with a maze, the word ethereal used a bit too much, and yet again I find the word higgledy-piggledy.
Margaret Lea, daughter of a book shop owner and amateur biographer in her own right, has been commissioned to write the biography of a world famous author and the mysteries surrounding her life. Surprised at the similarities in their stories, Margaret takes the job and sets out her on investigation of the tale. An easy read, not a predictable ending, mostly because you have no idea where the story is supposed to be going or what the end is so you can't make guesses as to how you're going to get there.
