Finished this Friday but wasn't going to peck this all out on my iPod.
'The Dante Club,' by Matthew Pearl. When a serial killer terrorizes Boston, only a renowned group of poets can untangle the details of his acts and put an end to the atrocities. They have been translating Dante's Inferno from it's original Italian when they realize the murders taking place are linked to the tales they've been unfolding.
You really have to enjoy period-speak and poetry to get into this book. It took me a long time to be sold, but I also found myself skimming through paragraphs and picking out important bits, as the narrative was a bit dull. When the murderer is revealed, it's very anti-climactic I felt very 'Oh, he's the killer. Um, okay.' I also didn't like the ending, it was very forced trying to tie up the loose ends for every character. Mediocre.
