8 Things About Takeru Shiba's Facebook Circle
Fandom: Samurai Sentai Shinkenger

Pairing(s): Minuscule hints of one-sided Takeru/Ryunosuke and Takeru/Chiaki, I guess? This is pretty gen though.
Notes: Because I had some free time! :D
1.
Takeru has one friend. He could have more - Ryunosuke requests to be his friend every day, Kotoha every week (fearing any more often and she’ll incur his anger) and Chiaki every once in a while, when he remembers who’s missing from his Facebook friends and feels miffed - but weeks go by and Takeru seems content to just have Genta as his single Facebook friend.
“I don’t know why you bother,” Mako says to Kotoha (and Ryunosuke, who leans precariously over Kotoha’s shoulder) as she sits at her laptop, biting her thumb. “What do you think he’s got on his Facebook that’s worth seeing anyway? His innermost thoughts? His secret impressions of each of us? Naked photos?”
Kotoha squeaks and blushes. Ryunosuke scrambles off to submit another friend request.

Chiaki, meanwhile, has the most crowded Facebook page on perhaps the entire site. Game scores after quiz results after more game scores. If Chiaki were a mythical animal, one quiz result says, he’d be a werewolf. Beneath that is Chiaki’s highest Tetris score, an achievement of which he is, as Ryunosuke puts it, “needlessly proud”.
Chiaki sends a private message boasting about his Tetris score to Takeru. The next day Takeru has topped the Tetris high scores board for the entire site.
Tetris is a stupid game anyway.
3.
Kotoha’s Facebook page is almost empty, save for the basics. She never updates. Her entire reason for being on Facebook seems to be clicking that she likes people’s status updates. It’s inevitable that once another member of the Shinkengers updates their status, a little “Kotoha Hanaori likes this” will pop up underneath it within minutes.
4.
“Why are you a member of all these groups for miserable people?” Chiaki enquires on Mako’s Wall. “Are you miserable?”
“No,” Mako replies shortly. “Are you?”
Chiaki’s been feeling a little down about the whole Tetris situation, but after a glance at the newest group Mako’s joined, Sorrowful, Single and Sexy, he decides just to tell her that he’s fine.

Ryunosuke waits but even Kotoha can’t bring herself to like such a status update.

Ryunosuke refuses to visit Genta’s Facebook page. The amount of flashing images and loud noises, he says, could give even a blind man a seizure. Genta can’t understand what the fuss is about. “It looks fine to me,” he tells Chiaki and Kotoha. “It’s cheery!”
“I like it,” Chiaki tells him. “You should keep it exactly as it is.”
A few hours later he tells Ryunosuke Takeru left a huge message about him on Genta’s wall and waits for this seizure Ryunosuke keeps threatening.
7.
It’s late on a Wednesday night when Takeru logs into his Facebook and finds that not only has he accepted Chiaki’s friend request but he’s joined half a dozen support groups for sufferers of impotence. There’s two possible reasons for this sudden change to his Facebook, and as Takeru’s never updated his Facebook in his sleep before he decides not to leave his laptop unattended while Chiaki’s around anymore.
“Now that you’ve left all of those groups,” Chiaki writes on his Wall a few hours later, “you’ve got to delete that Wall message I left about how I’m sorry about your floppy penis too, else Genta’s going to get the wrong idea about us.”
Takeru hides his smirk behind his hand, deletes nothing.

All things considered, things have turned out surprisingly well, Chiaki thinks. Maybe Takeru will think twice before playing Tetris in the future.
