Manga: Updates
Well, I am sad to report that I am all caught up on various of my Manga series.
After School Nightmare: No FANSUBS??!! (*edit: Meant SCANLATIONS??!!... I blame NYAF YouTube) I want the next two books and I have to WAIT like a normal fan for the next two!!??/ Grah. I have to admit though... Vol 8 kinda freaked me out. The main character, after fighting for the previous seven volumes just .... er.. gave in? ... so easily to... well, read the series... it was a freaky volume to me, that's all... Need more icons from this series... do I even have any yet?? No? must fix that...
Saiyuki Reload: Caught up to October 2008 Zero Sum thanks to radiofreebanri and athena8 Dangit. Now I have to go find the beginning of Gaiden and read up on that.... Enough Icons though... for now.
Black Sun, Silver Moon: Volume 6 and only one volume to go.... and AGAIN no Fansubs (*edit: again, meant scanlations) to be found :-/ grah... I was a little surprised at the twist to the storyline, though I knew it had to go somewhere near there at some time, but reading the series was like moving along a level but inclined plateau... and then stumbling down a steep hill! I found myself saying WHAT? a lot, also feeling a bit sad... I want to find out how the series ends, but I wish the manga-ka did the art and story a little better than he(?) did. Not saying the story was bad or slow or anything... Just spoiled by Minekura and everyone I suppose... It really is an intriguing story about Demons and Resurrected, beliefs and humanity, heart and misconceptions... a really fun "horror" I think. Ack! No icons at all!
Death Note: I finally bought Book 13: How to Read Death Note (I might eventually get the novel... but meh... ) Really enjoyed what I have read of it... but really, what kind of name is L? Is that seriously his really legal name? totally weird. I like how the author and artist played off one another to create the story we all know and love, and totally loved the various descriptions and insights on each character. Eventually I will read the whole thing, as it is, I read it MUCH longer than I intended because I couldn't put it down. Apparently, even the creators favored L, but well, they knew what had to happen to him and I am kinda very happy that the artist had a really hard time with drawing the final showdown scenes *with Light. I didn't get much to help me in my portrayal of Light though. I knew most of that already. Dangit. Learning more about L just made me relate to HIM more though. Weird. STILL like LIGHT best!!! though. Must remember to upload a new icon...
Fruits Basket: I was already caught up before this post, but I have bought all the main books up to the current release. YAY for scanlations! I would be going even MORE crazy not knowing how that series ended. Just waiting for the arrival of the Cat Fanbook along with the arrival of my Death Note DVD. The sticker book is cute, but not worth the asking price to me. Ditto with the diary.... I need more icons from this series....
* Edited later this day to add "with Light" to the sentence and add 'Scanlations' where I said FanSubs(which I used for Initial D shows)... yeesh.
