*Screams in Frustration*
Ok... I HATE HATE HATE being behind! I was just looking for interesting
Japanese interests in New York.... and I clicked on a link to
Subway Cinema which took me to a page I remember seeing once before... I was about to shrug and return, but then I REALLY looked at the page.... at the time previous that I clicked on it, I DEFINITELY wouldn't have recognised the central figure on the page,.... but TODAY I totally did and it made be cry out in frustration!
Central to the New York Asian Film Festival advertisement which ended July 6 (btw, I actually clicked the link the first time the day after it ended) was a figure I can now recognise in my sleep....
It was L!! (and Watari and Ryuk.... it looks like it was supposed to be the draw for the whole festival)

L: CHANGE THE WORLD (Japan, 2008)
The DEATH NOTE movies were massive hits in Japan (and at last year’s NYAFF) and here’s the latest installment in the series, courtesy of Hideo Nakata (THE RING). L, the Goth Sherlock Holmes with the killer sweet tooth, fights a flesh-melting virus in this slick summer blockbuster.

Talk about missing things! *sigh* (heh, i know, right after I claimed that Light was my favorite, but HEY, i do like L... i just like LIGHT better)
ACK! *sigh* So ironic because I clicked the first time the day after the stupid Festival ended... and the friday before that I had read my first vol of Death Note... which hadn't shown L yet...and Name of the movie didn't catch my eye, I remember thinking "L? What a strange name for a movie... meh, whatever..." and skipping down to Sukiyaki Western Django which caught my eye instead... totally missed the Death Note reference... gah, so silly... and there was another Film Fest that was running that i was gonna try to catch that was playing some of the same films... wonder if it was there instead... I fell very annoyed to have missed L though. *sigh*
Ok, you may now all laugh and groan on my behalf *bows out and goes back to work*
