American Idol Concert Vancouver 07/08/09
So I went to the American Idol Live! Concert in Vancouver. Details under the cut.
I went with my friend, and the show started at 7:00, and we got there at like 6:20, went through the huge-ass line to get in. I got a tour book, and we both got glow sticks (they were so fun). Then we got settled into our seats, we were Row 4 Seats 35 and 36. The drinking age is 19 in BC, and I'm from Alberta, where it's 18, so I wanted a drink. My friend booted me a Smirnoff Ice. It was delicious. Every single time they showed Adam on the screen, people screamed. At first it was lol-worthy, then I started to get annoyed. But my friend lol'd every time.
I don't feel like typing out each person's performance and what I thought, so I'll just say that I thought everyone in the first half did a good job. People did sit down for pretty much every performance. People cheered for everyone. I danced. A lot. My friend and I pretty much screamed along to every song we knew the words to. My friend didn't know much about Idol, but she LOOOOVES MJ, so when Gokey did PYT, she wasn't very impressed. But everyone else made up for the lack of love we were sending his way. The crowd cheered super loud for Gokey. But, not as much as Adam, which was ear-drum breaking levels of screaming. My friend and I screaaaamed along to Adam's song. I think I was the only person ever who actually knew the song "Starlight" by Muse, because I was rocking out, and no one else was. Lamers.
So, then it was Kris, and I don't know what people thought, but NO. ONE. BOOED. I can 100% guarantee that. There were no boos. Maybe they didn't cheer as hard as they did for Adam, but no booing. Even the crazy Adam fans, with homemade t-shirts, and a pink sign in front of us did not boo Kris Allen.
The girl who threw the bra was right in front of us too. When we left the stadium, the girl came up to us and was like "I threw the bra!" I lol'd. My friend was creeped out.
So, here's a good story. When Anoop was on, I yelled "TAKE IT OFF!!!!" and then I looked to my side, and there was a security guy there. He laughed. Hard. And I turned red and *faceplamed*. So he kept coming back and making fun of us. My friend rocked out to the Bowie Medley, and he came by and gave her a look and I was like "She really likes Bowie...". Anyways, at one point my friend said "I think the security guard has a crush on you" and I was like "lol, no...". So, she wanted to take my picture with him, but he didn't come back after she decided this! And we searched for him all around the arena after the show. So, we left the arena, and decided to chill outside to see if we could meet some of the Idols (I wanted Kris' autograph reaaaallll bad) So, we chilled, and we figured they weren't coming out, so we called her uncle to come pick us up. Right after we get off the phone, there's screaming. So, we get over to where everyone is, and it's so crowded so we decided to go up a ramp that looks down over where they're coming out. Adam is there, and who happens to be his bodyguard????

I lost my shit! I was trying to get his attention by yelling SECURITY GUY and TAKE IT OFF to see if he'd recognize me. No dice. I was mad, cause I coulda been like "Hey, can you get me backstage???" and if he DID actually like me, maybe he would have!!! Also, when I yelled take it off, some guy laughed at me. I'm sure he thought I was talking to Adam. Lol, no...although, I would not have said no...
ALSO, I met some ONTD_AI people there!!! I NEED TO FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE!!! SORRY IF I SEEMED STAND OFF-ISH, I WANTED TO SQUEE ALONG SOOOO BAD, BUT MY FRIEND DOESN'T DO LJ, OR MUCH OF THE INTERNETZ AT ALL AND SHE WAS FREAKED OUT!!! SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY!!!!!
