ONTD, but... yeah Oh No They Didn't is pretty much my reaction, and that's just from skimming through quickly.
So we knew Mitchell was out, and a new vampire was coming in, plus I'd heard that Tom the cute young werewolf who was a semi-regular last series would become a regular, but the rest of this is just leaving me gobsmacked.
Apparently Nina disappears/dies/something. She's not in series four at all. Tovey will be leaving at the end of series four. I really wish they could have had it be George and Nina going off together, but perhaps they decided to not deal with the werewolf baby storyline, or deal with it by having it kill her and George losing it and perhaps dying too.
There's an interesting list of guest stars: Alex Jennings, Mark Gatiss, James Lance, Mark Williams, Amanda Abbingdon, Craig Roberts (reprising his role as teenage vampire Adam), Selina Griffiths and Ellie Kendrick. I'd heard Adam would probably appear again, so that's not too surprising. He was a PITA in the episode he was in, but I sort of liked the webisodes of Becoming Human which was essentially Being Human: In High School, so I thought a return could be interesting.
I just... for me, it was a show that had a core trio, then a core four after Nina became a werewolf. It's bad enough losing Mitchell, but to also have Nina gone and George on the way out. I'm wondering if they're going to just slot the new vamp into Mitchell's role, and it sounds like it, since they're doing the love interest route with Annie. Tom gives us our werewolf role, while Annie's still around on the ghostly plane.
It's not the same show at all, and I'm not sure how well it can transition with this many changes coming one after another. It reminds me of Primeval's constant cast and premise changes. The show is still around, but it's nothing like what it was. So will Being Human be able to survive this upheaval?
