This is a Hulu original limited series (aka a mini-series), based on the book, Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company that Addicted America by Beth Macy. It will be 8 episodes, with the first three released already, and the rest will be out weekly

i never read the book, but one thing about that situation i remember from some new report is pseudo addiction. that the drug reps told doctors that people couldn't possibly be addicted to it, even though they talk and seem like they are.

A big selling point was it was an opioid that had less than 1% chance addiction. Essentially a made up number.

I was shocked a couple of times at things I've run across in my journey with chronic pain actually originated with Purdue. I never took Oxy, but my treatment was and is still influenced by it in some way.
