‘Stumptown’ Canceled at ABC Despite Already Being Renewed

Now this is an odd one. The show's first season got good enough ratings to get a renewal, which was great because there was a bit of cliffhanger ending. Fast forward to a pandemic, and the network is pinching pennies, and this show was expensive and would be even more so when you factor in the extra work needed for "a lot of stuntwork, on-location shooting in Los Angeles, and romantic scenes" that are much more difficult in a pandemic. Timing is also a factor, as the delays would mean it wouldn't be ready when they needed it.

It's possible it might get picked up by a streaming service that doesn't use the "season" model like broadcast and cable networks, but who knows how long that wait could be? Very possible the cast might move on to other things.

‘She-Hulk’: Tatiana Maslany Lands Title Role In New Marvel Series

The show will be on Disney+, so who knows when or if I'll ever watch it, but I loved Maslany's work in Orphan Black, so I'm glad to see her still working hard. I'm curious to see what the plotline will be, since if it's part of the MCU, we've got Professor Hulk now, not Bruce Banner, and the origin story is he gave her an emergency blood transfusion, which gave her Hulk-like powers. Will Ruffalo have a role, at least in the pilot, or will they change things up?

And then there's this...

I read the novel as teen when the first movie version came out. This one certainly steps it up in the visual, and could they have a prettier cast? Though who knows when this will ever appear in theaters, and I'm pretty sure this one will be worth seeing in a theater just for the f/x. Supposed to be December 18, 2020 in the US, but I'm not quite believing any release dates now.
