To DVD or not to DVD...

Let's just say some of my Library Teens have similar interests to mine. On Wednesday, I was prepping the library's copy of Maze Runner: The Death Cure that just came out on DVD. One of the Library Teens was helping behind the desk, saw what I was working on, immediately wanted on the reserve list, and then commented about how pretty Dylan O'Brien ( Read more... )

There's way more good tv than I have time to watch! I just tell myself that it's a huge improvement from when I was a youngster, and most of what was on tv was dren.

I suppose most of it still is dren, but there's a heck of a lot more, and I think a higher percentage is really good.

Are you watching Legion?

There have been a lot of shows recently that I kept watching simply because I can do so pretty easily with a DVR. I've been letting some go so I can watch stuff I enjoy more. So yeah, a lot of dren, but coming from the days when you only had a couple of SFF shows on at a time, this is an amazing time for the genre.

Yes, I'm watching Legion and all its insanity (sometimes literal).

Yes, it's amazing how much good SF&F tv is out there! I find Legion mind-blowing. I think it's the best thing I'm watching right now-but then there's The Expanse, and maybe that's the best thing. . . . What a wonderful dilemma!

I'm not going to complain about the quantity because I know eventually tastes will change and there won't be as many SFF shows, but I hope we can retain some of the quality.

Legion is one of the shows I'm watching as it comes out, but I'm keeping it on my DVR to rewatch when the season is done. There's probably so many tidbits I'm missing the first time through.

Ugh, I was so annoyed that they didn't release Shadowhunters S1 on DVD so I could buy it and catch up before watching S2. So I didn't feel bad that I had to find another *coff* way to watch it. Hey, I wanted to give them my money!

I think they assume everyone can stream stuff now. There's a significant number of people who have limited or no access at all, but might still be connected enough via smart phone or public access computers (yay, libraries!) to order physical media they can watch at their leisure without active internet access. Not to mention libraries still check out a ton of physical media every year that could also get someone hooked on a new-to-them series ( ... )
