Have Con, will travel...
Once more our local sci-fi/fantasy convention runs this long-weekend--Keycon! I had taken a several year hiatus from attending, but this year I am raring to go. It should be fun, especially as all four of us are staying at the hotel for the duration. Yay! No cooking!
Our friend M will be going this year, and taking the plunge by bringing along his wife and two daughers who are absolute convention virgins. His wife doesn't role-play, but I think she's more than willing to go just for the opportunity to stay at a hotel and leave routine life behind for the weekend. Our two girls are very excited about everything, especially the opportunity to swim everyday. As well, they have the responsibility of showing our friend's daughters the con-going ropes.
I'm quite excited myself at what will be offered at the Art Auction--Artist Guest of Honour is Lawrence A. Williams. I absolutely love his work done with mostly pencil with small coloured details. Hopefully one of those prints will be available for bids...
