I read Figgs and Phantoms by Ellen Raskin today.
It was one of the books on the GEP Enrichment Reading Programme booklist in primary school! So I always had the book, but before this, all my attempts to start the book failed abruptly. I should have known its standard, seeing as I read The Westing Game (also by same author) long long ago and loved it so much.
It's about growing up, letting go. It's simple enough, but it's good. I have a feeling that my old, young self is much like the main character, not in terms of the situation as much, maybe put into larger perspectives.
So, read read! It's the sort of oh? books. I think? :D
