I check my email yesterday and the DJ Mixer I picked up a few weeks ago finally was shipped. So I've been impatiently waiting for it to arrive. Today I get home from work and there is a friendly box sitting at my door. I bring it inside, open it up, and pull out my Numark M1 USB.
So I plug the power in, plug the output into my surround system, set the levels, and then plug the USB cable into my PC. Right away the device is recognized, installed, and is automatically selected as my default audio out. I stop winamp and then start the song again, switch my surround system to the new input and immediately I hear sex on my speakers. Sure, I had to do some adjustments to the levels, but when I was done for the first time since I plugged my PCs into my stereo I did not hear the hum of the computer over the speakers. For the first time I didn't hear the ground hum. For the first time I stopped an MP3 and only heard the natural hum of my PCs fans. For the first time, quiet.
I didn't realize PC audio could sound so good.
I think I'm in love.
Here's hoping I'll have enough extra cash to pick up the Nurmark Total Control next month. I'll be set after that.
