In the last few moments I may legitimately wish you so (at least in my time zone)...
If you were here (and I wish you were), I would (and actually could!) offer you tea and Christmas cookies. Maybe next year, I'll be ready by the 15th and can have open house (well, a girl can dream...)

We failed decorating this year, but we succeeded at Christmas dinner. We even used the good china, which I only remembered that I had as Thomas was bemoaning our lack of serving dishes.
We never brought in the mail yesterday, so I had two lovely surprises today: Neva's holiday letter and a beautiful card from Bruce and Astra, a glittery pop-up Victorian picture of cats playing under a Christmas tree. I felt very loved.
In interesting coincidence, Thomas's angel this year had a fur-trimmed hat, and one of his gifts to me was a wonderful Russian fur hat (the label is in Cyrillic!). If I ever go to Winter weekend again, I'm set.
