Update on the nextgenbigbang!
Hello! This is your round 2 mod, kitty_fic!
I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates on the nextgenbigbang. If you know me at all, you know that I am active on LJ and I have plenty of experience modding, and hopefully you know that I'm really not likely to flake out on this community! However, I do have to admit that I'm much more used to modding fests and that I've struggled a bit modding this big bang. It's definitely been a bit of a learning curve for me!
Nonetheless, I can guarantee that as long as we have authors who want to participate, the fest will happen!
drarryxlover is our other active mod. She has been huge help with the email correspondence and other organizational things. So, weplan to be better about updating the community and keeping things running smoothly and on schedule!
Even before the holidays (and before the mods took a bit of an unplanned hiatus), we unfortunately did have some authors who weren't sure they were going to be able to complete the challenge . So, in response to requests by our authors, we have pushed back the timeline.
Here is our new timeine:
March 10: [Anon Summaries Posted for Artists]
March 18: [Artist/Author Matching] (Writers must begin to share all their work/rough drafts with their artist at this point.) (Author's are encouraged to have 10-15k written by this point.)
April 15: [Mandatory Artist/Author Check-in.] (To establish that things are running smoothly and the allotted artists/writers are working together on their submissions.)
May 1: [Final Check-in] [Author and Artist Rough Drafts Due to Mods] (Should be complete other than edits or small additions allowed.) (You will need to confirm your final participation at this time.)
May 10: [Posting Schedule Posted]
May 15: [Posting Starts]
We are also considering adding a mini-bang option for those who would be interested in joining in for a smaller challenge. It doesn't look like there will be a next gen prompt fest running this spring, so, maybe we can help fill the gap in next gen fic in this way? There would be no artist matching for this option, but we may offer some other incentive to writers (possibly a story banner/graphic).
