WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO VOLKSWAGEN?(any problems Audi?)
Hundred years ago, in 1908 Ford T appeared.... That was the first VolksWagen (actually, I don't mean VW auto concern, I mean cars for ordinary people).First, the standard 4-seat open tourer of 1909 cost $850 (equivalent to $20,709 today), when competing cars often cost $2,000-$3,000 (equivalent to $48,726-$73,089 today); in 1913, the price dropped to $550 (equivalent to $12,181 today), and $440 in 1915 (equivalent to $9,521 today). Sales were 69,762 in 1911; 170,211 in 1912; 202,667 in 1913; 308,162 in 1914; and 501,462 in 1915. In 1914, an assembly line worker could buy a Model T with four months' pay.By the 1920s, the price had fallen to $290 (equivalent to $3,289 today)!!!! Nowadays for $3,289 you can't buy something normal. You have just one way - break your legs and buy wheelchair))). Ford Model T was popular like a hamburger. I don't need ABS, ESP, traction control, air condition, window heating in my hamburger. Hamburger is hamburger. Volkswagen is Volkswagen. That is the most important difference between cars of the past and nowadays cars...
Few decades later Volkswagen (manufacturer) produced nazimobil... OH, I'm so sorry about that!!! I mean VW Kafer. It was one of the last really ordinary car (other were fiat 500 and MINI). Since that time VW hasn't produced any really ordinary VolksWagen. They made Golf, but it wasn't so popular. You can buy Lupo or Polo but think again about a wheelchair). But wait a minute... They did the real VolksWagen - VW Phaeton! It is very loved by the most ordinary people - members of UA government.
Also Auto Union - German concern, consisted of four manufacturers - Audi, DKW, Horch и Wanderer produced cars. Each company specialized on something. Dkw were cheap and Audi produced race cars. After war Audi disappeared, but in 1960 th DKW transformed into Audi. For some years they still did cars, which could be bought by an ordinary worker. BUT WHAT HAPPENED THEN? ANY PROBLEMS, AUDI???
As real Audi, for the last fifty years they made only two sport models: QUATTRO S and R8 (I'm not talking about S, RS series and Le-Mans cars).For almost Thirty years Audi, as ex-DKW produced normal cars: Audi 50,60,80,90,100,coupe for normal people and 200,v8 for rich.that's why I can't understand, what they specialise on? It seems that they want to occupy all niches of market. In 1994 Audi 80 transformed into A4 and good old Audi DIED... What can I say about Audi? I love them all but why the hell the are so expensive??? Same thing refers to Volkswagen. If you want to make cars for profit, not for people, don't call yourself Volkswagen!!!!
P.S. Also France did their 2cv, but i'll pretend that I forgot about it because it's more like a wheelchair))).

Dear people of Russia!!! Don't try to make new LADA!!!! Just do, what you can best - VAZ 2105, OK? A bit more quality and it has all chances to become new Ford T (i believe in that!)
