Thanksgiving weekend...
Thanksgiving weekend was awesome. Aside from a brief arguement, all good, no bad... and I loved every minute of it. Ate dinner with Barbara's family and met her dad for the first time. It was a great time.
I'd have to say the best part of the weekend was the engagment party in NY... Awesome stuff. Her family is alot closer knit and more sociable than mine. Lots of joking around couple with a little beer and a family atmosphere made for some good times.
Ok... on a lighter note, Cadbury, Barbara's rabbit like to nibble on my stomach and stuff. He's well mannered for a rabbit and like to be held and petted (is that even a word?). But, he'll nibble on your clothes. And my stomach. Doesn't hurt.. just kinda startling.
Army-Navy Weekend...
Navy 42, Army 22. CinC's Trophy stays in the Rotunda, right where it belongs. Thank's to New York Nick's and staff for giving us crazy USNA alums a place to cheer for the only team in college football that matters. (If you're ever in P-Cola, NY Nick's is on Palafox Place off of Garden St downtown. You should go there.)
So since Barbara and I have known each other, this is the first A-N weekend we havent seen each other, even if only for a couple of hours. On top of other things, she took it harder than I did. Honestly, it didn't really hit me until she told me after we'd had a little spat. Didn't realize exactly what it meant to her. I got excited for the weekend cuz of the game, and she because in her mind (and rightfully so) it was an "I get to see Phil weekend" (which are the best for both of us). Well, it didn't turn out to be an "I get to see Phil weekend" for her and I was oblivious to the fact, and got a little insensitive when she got upset.
Barbara.. just to let you know... in a few months, most every weekend will be an "I get to see Phil weekend" :-p
Other Stuff:
1. Air Force sucks.
2. After marriage: One bedroom or two?
3. I know someone who says being married made it easier for him to get through flight school. His wife knows the EP's for the T-34 as well as he does. She's a nurse.
4. Frisbee is chicken soup for the soul.
5. Its wierd seeing this on line: Weather for 4 Dec 05: High of 78, sunny and clear. Slight breeze.
6. My mom likes to bring up old arguements that I've forgotten about.
7. Love is not lust. Its not even close.
8. Nigerian Spam is funny.
9. Microsoft is the devil's product. The world should switch to Mac or Linux
10. I will be working at a museum.
More other stuff:
I am going to compile a spoof nautical/naval dictionary. Here's what I have so far:
Chain of Command (n): the chain with which you will be beaten until you understand who's in command
Chart (n): a nautical map used to identify the object you've just collided with
Navigation (n): the art of approximating where the ship or aircraft was five minutes ago (also called Naviguessing)
If you have any more, send'em my way.
As I end this, I think it would be prudent to announce to the world that my entire right leg is asleep...
