Back from my glorious 3 day weekend. The family and I took a little road trip to Alabama for a couple of days and had one hell of a blast. I needed that break more than I thought.
While visiting with a friend of ours, we were invited to a huge party at a guy's cabin overlooking Bucks Pocket State Park. This cabin was on the ridge of a huge canyon, and it was way the fuck back in the country. This place didn't have power or running water; there was a generator running so people could watch the college games. Amber had her first experience with an outhouse, but spent the first 5 minutes before using it trying to convince her self that it was nothing more than a huge joke that we were all playing on her. There were 4 smokers set up with pig, chicken, deer, and goat. Plus, 1 grill with burgers and hot dogs and 2 propane stoves were going with chili and beef stew were all set up. Three tables were full of side dishes. God, it was a fucking country feast that'll make your head spin. I ate myself retarded. There is nothing like hanging out in the middle of nowhere that requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle just to access it with 50+ people drinking beer, eating food, and making new friends. Reason #1 why I love the south.
