Today was overall a really nice day to leave off on for break.
For my riding lesson, we were all on strange horses. Apparently most of our dressage horses are lame, so we were on Equitation horses who don't ever do dressage... I rode Tucker, a percheron cross. He isn't terribly tall (compared to the warmbloods and thoroughbreds we have), but he is very thick. It was my first time ever riding him. For being so heavy, he actually moved really forward. I was pretty happy. Even at the canter he was forward and moving right along. None of the horses, however, were up to the level of work required by our class, so we ended very early (15-ish minutes early) and we all went for a cooldown walk around one of the front fields because it was so incredibly nice out. It was a really great ride to have right before break.
The evening driver for the shuttle brought in cupcakes for everyone! I had a chocolate cupcake from the orange part~
My afternoon class let out over half an hour early, so I spent some extra time with Twist. He was in good spirits today~ It only took about 5 tries to get a photo of him where he wasn't grumpy, instead of the usual 10+! hahaha
A short while after I returned from the barn, I met up with a friend and we got "shamrock shakes" (vanilla milkshake dyed green), and then I helped her with some homework. After we grabbed dinner, I drove her back to her house, where she let me take some pictures of her barn to use for a project. She has 3 horses, 1 mini horse, 1 donkey, 1 mule, and 2 goats! I was so excited about the goats. I love goats. I don't know what it is. I worked on a goat breeding farm my senior year of high school and it was glorious, because there were just goats everywhere, and then come spring there's BABY goats everywhere.
Anyway, I hung out at her place for a while and we had a ton of fun. She taught me the cup song or game or something. It's apparently from Pitch Perfect, which I have not seen. It was fun, and will definitely come in handy if I get a job at the summer camp! After that, we spent a few hours making a Bob Ross painting. We did Season 1 Episode 5 "Quiet Stream". I'm actually kind of proud of how mine turned out.
And with that, it is time for me to hop off. I have to pack tomorrow and head back to my own lovely state. Im not really in a hurry, but I have been up since 6:30 this morning and it's now 18 hours later. I'm pretty tired, haha.
Hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick's Day!
