I agree. Not everyone wants to be a fame whore. I'd much rather have a small group of friends who I can interact with and actually know who's who. I also HATE that they added a like button last year.
Same! And in the new post layout thing you can pick a "best comment" to feature... so weird. Like, who actually uses LJ for popularity and that kind of stuff? There are way better places on the internet for that, I'm sure.

My biggest issue with "liking" is that I'd much rather get a comment (even if it's very short) to discuss what someone likes about my post. I want some sort of interaction with my friends, not just empty numbers!
haha, I think it's fun to just be like "hey I did a thing!" I honestly expected it to be lower because I have been awol for the past couple months for various reasons. Maybe this year I will finally average a post a week!
