You could hear a pin drop in my mind, it's clear...

Happy weekend, everyone! I am in a surprisingly good mood for once. I had a really long and frustrating week, but this evening has been pretty positive and - do I say it and risk jinxing it? - relaxing. I'm writing this while sitting on the floor in the "playroom" (where I keep my computer, books, and games), and my boys are running free. They get free reign of the room, and I keep it glider-proofed. I have the lights off, so they are running around excited. Sugar gliders are nocturnal, which means I have to keep the lights low so they actually run around and get exercise. It also makes catching them super easy because if you turn on a light they either run back into the small travel cage I keep in this room, or they run back to me to hide. They are really amusing to watch.

Earlier in the week, I finished both my Excel and Access classes. I learned a few new tricks in Excel, and the guy teaching it definitely knew the software inside and out, and was able to teach it well. I had no real experience with Access, but I have fallen in love with it. I wish Google Drive had database capabilities, but I get why they don't have quite the same thing.

I ordered a Kindle Paperwhite withe a little of my tax refund. I really like it so far! Navigation is taking some getting used to, but that's just because I'm too used to my phone. It is strange not having buttons, especially a stationary "Home" button. I updated my Goodreads account for the first time in years, and am excited that Kindle can sync with it. I like the idea behind Goodreads, but I read several books at once (I like having options depending on the mood I'm in), so keeping it updated was a pain. Now with my Kindle I can at least keep track of my ebooks! I need more Goodreads friends, so if you're on there let's be friends! I also got a really cool cover for my Kindle. It has stars and constellations on it, named and everything. If I had been any good at math, I would have gone into astronomy. This cover makes me so happy~

Tonight after work, Mother and I went to check out a gym that is pretty much across the street from our work. It is part of a national chain of "beginner/intermediate" gyms, which is perfect for me! I really just want a place to walk. I used to walk/jog 5k a night. Not exaggerating, I just had a lot of free time and love being outside at night. I used a really cool app called Zombies, Run! and the story is so well done! It definitely helped get me out every night and stay motivated. I went out every single night for a little over a year, with the exception of when I had the flu. Running while it is snowing is my favorite. Running during dawn is a close second, when you leave the house and it is dark, and you watch the sun come up. I had to stop when I started working at the warehouse the second time, then I spent two years state-hopping. My family moved out of the neighborhood right before the state-hopping, so I haven't been running in three years. Unfortunately, it definitely shows. Anyway, I've been trying to find a gym that is inexpensive and friendly, since I feel like a lot of gyms are filled with, well, scary people. Most people scare me. Some of my coworkers go to this one, though, and they all had positive things to say about it, so I got a daypass. The pass came with a tour of the facility and I was really impressed! They have a ton of machines, and a wide variety to pick from. Everyone we passed was also smiling and friendly, which was really encouraging, even if it did have a bit of a Stepford vibe. We tried out several of the machines, and even got to test the hydromassage (water-powered and super funky when you don't know what to expect, but I kinda liked it) and the massage chairs. Man, I imagine when the weather gets nicer I'll be exhausted and sore after training the horse I work with, so it will be super nice to go get a massage there~ I am definitely going to get a membership. Basic level gets full access to the gym and all the free classes, but premium gets access to the massages, tanning, and other extras. I am seriously debating the premium, since it isn't very much more.

I am just SO HAPPY that I have finally found a place to get into running again!!! And one that isn't filled wth judgemental people or meatheads. When we finished exploring the different machines I did get a solid half hour on the treadmill, some of which was even jogging, but man do I have a long way to go to get back to where I was. Right now, though, I feel like I can definitely achieve it! Running always puts me in such a good mood. I think the happiest I have ever consistently been was back when I was running. I don't get a "runner's high" like some people talk about, I just feel generally good. Though running on a treadmill is going to take some getting used to, that's for sure @.@

Anyway, I gotta cut it short. My boys are trying to use me as a jungle gym. I guess they want my attention~
