Not!Yakisoba

So I was hungry, and I had a chicken breast. I also had soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles) and some Asian seasonings.


Took breast meat off bone and cut into little pieces.

Marinated it in a little sesame oil and equal parts soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and mirin (sweet cooking sake).

Cooked the soba in boiling water.

Cooked the chicken in its marinating liquid in a wok.

When the liquid was much reduced, added some sugar.

When the noodles were done, added them to the chicken and sauce in the wok.

Stirred and cooked til it was all gooey and sticky.

Served with beni shoga (thin shredded pickled ginger - this is the dark red salty kind, not the sushi kind)

And it was super super nummy.

But it's not really yakisoba.
