You might think I've stopped working on Fallen Leaves, but you would be oh, so wrong! In fact, we posted part one of a new Genma and Raidou arc today.
(Backstory for those who missed it: In The Shadow Proves the Sunshine, we saw Genma and Raidou recovering from a grueling mission that left them facing their worst nightmares (Woke With This Fear | Strong On the Surface | All the Way Through | Doubt in Your Faith | Follow You Into Dark |Meet You On the Other Side). In a touching scene on a hospital balcony, Raidou confessed to having kissed Genma when Genma was drunk. Genma's response? To kiss Raidou again, properly sober.)
Today darksideofstorm and I posted the first part of a three-part arc about what happens next. In Warm in the Shadows, Genma and Raidou are out of the hospital at long last. In their first hour of freedom, all they want is a little fresh air, a little taste of normal life. A visit to the Academy schoolyard to look in on Raidou's brothers seems safe enough. Of course they haven't talked about that balcony kiss in the three days since. Did it even happen? But just when Genma is deciding he needs to offer Raidou a graceful out, Raidou turns Genma's world on its head, and kisses him again, this time like he really means it.
