Do I LOOK Solvent?
I'm registered to vote as a Democrat, largely because I wanted my vote in the primaries to count. Otherwise I'd be registered Independent, because even though I'm completely liberal politically, I don't like affiliating myself with a party. It feels unclean.
But anyway, since I'm registered Democrat, I get email from them...

They would like to suggest I could help the campaign by going to one of these events on October 18, while Senator Biden is in town:

OK, yes I care about this election. And it would take Obama doing something monumentally stupid to convince me not to vote for him at this point. But more than half my monthly income for the cheapest chance at canapés with Senator Biden? Who did their demographic research before they sent out this mail again? And what were they smoking?
