It's seemed a lot like I died or was abducted by aliens or perhaps fell into the Pit of Dewm. Or something. Instead I got sick. That whole "let's change the IVIG protocol to prevent a reaction" thing? Didn't work. Had a bad time with the IVIG, felt cruddy, tired and very out of breath, and have been hibernating, watching tv, and playing games on my DS-Lite.

So, I've now seen all of the first seasons of House and Bones, both of which I enjoyed. House annoyed me at first. I think it really took more than half the first season before the plots quit being quite so formulaic and the actors gelled together a bit. I was really tired of the "It's this! No! It's not this, so then it must be this! No wait, not that either, try this!" sequence. Also I usually have the ability to suspend disbelief even on medical shows, but then they did one where the mysteriously sick guy supposedly had CVID (that's the rare immune deficiency I have) and they were gonna treat him with IVIG (that's the stuff I get for CVID that I've been having bad reactions to) and it was either gonna Make him dramatically better or kill him in a matter of hours. Yeah, right. Not even close. It made me gnash my teeth and shout at the television.

Bones I liked better, mostly because I really liked the characters and their interactions. It's very much a character driven show, which appeals to me, and I like the acting and directing. Plus it's about a buncg of nerds, the "squints" presumably for their squinty eyes peering into microscopes and such. It's like a smartened up CSI, with good acting, characters and interesting plots.

And then there is Ninja Warrior which was originally broadcast in Japan as Sasuke. The show and the characters Uchiha Sasuke and the Sarutobi clan in Naruto were both named for the same historical fictional famous ninja Sarutobi Sasuke. It's something like a sports show, something like a game show-a contest where people try to get through these insanely difficult obstacle courses. And it's subtitled so I get to practice listening to Japanese when I watch it.

I've also been playing with my DS-Lite. A lot of Clubhouse Games, which is a 31 games in one game with card and board games, including shogi (which I suck at) and hanafuda. Now the cool thing about it is, back in the old days when Nintendo was first a company, what they made was hanafuda playing cards. It's a Japanese card game with really pretty cards. And Nintendo made them. And now I play virtual hanafuda on my Nintendo DS-Lite.

Also playing Animal Crossing in which I have a strange fascination with fishing, and am tired of pulling up weeds. But the weeds are my fault since I ignored the game for months and it's one of those real time games where weeds grow and roaches get in your house if you ignore it.

And I've got the second Phoenix Wright game, in which you are a defense attorney trying to solve mystery and prove your clients innocent by tripping up the prosecution in their lies. I've never played the first game, because I couldn't find it at a store and haven't bothered trying to buy it online. It's frustrating when you mess up, though, cause there is no way to speed through the dialog when you have to repeat a section.

In other news, I've gotten no writing done in days and days, I didn't make it to church, and I'm out of groceries. I'm starting to feel a little better though, so I'll go to the store soon, and hopefully get back to writing again. Man it's hard. I want to just hibernate.

Today I'm thankful for having a flexible life that accommodates my illness.
