"Me and Mana have talked about the stay in France" Közi said camly, instantly getting the other band member's attention. He took another drag on his cigarette before continuing
"To make this shoot and everything as perfectly as possible, we have decided on staying here longer"
"How much is longer?" Gackt questioned critically
"All in all 2 months" Mana said before taking a sip of water
"You're kidding, right?" Yu~ki started pacing around in the room
"It means not working around the clock the next couple of weeks" Közi said calmly, stubbing out his cigarette. Putting another cigarette to his lips he spoke once more
"And we'll get a new place to stay"
"The company said they had rented a castle cheap" Mana looked out the window, seemingly tired and bored. Usually he loved rainy days, but today it just made him impatient
"Közi can you come with me for a while? I want to check how the new costume fit"
"Sure" he smiled kindly, getting up from the armchair "Let's go"
Mana went into the room first and headed directly to the work bench, leaving Közi standing in the middle of the room looking lost.
"Strip" he commanded with his eyes still attached on the fabric on his bench
"uhm, okay" Közi did what he was told and pulled the t-shirt over his head, shivering a little as the cold air hit his bare torso. Mana picked up a large shirt with the (for Közi) usual collar and a pair of loose, beige pants
"Put them on, I think it will be as we decided on before"
Once again Közi obliged, putting on the pieces of clothing which, to his surprise, fit rather well
"How does it look?" he asked, looking for some change in Mana's facial expression
"With the make-up and styling, it will be perfect" Mana mused, mostly for himself
"Just got to make the waist of the pants a bit smaller, ne?" he took out a pad with needles and sat down on his knees next to Közi and started to adjust the size of the waist
"So... how much do I piss Gackt off?"
"Huh?" Mana looked up at him "not too much... he's more angry with me" he frowned slightly as he continued his work
"Because you came to me?"
"Yes... Or well, because I slept in the same bed as you knowing..." Mana bit his lower lip, blushing "you're still in love me, right?"
"I can't lie and say that isn't so... But I know we can only be friends and being your best friend is fine by me" he smiled sadly
"Is it really okay?" Mana's eyes seemed suddenly sadder "if it hurts you, I will leave"
"I'm fine Mana. Really. Besides, this is our band and it wouldn't be Malice Mizer without you."
"You really are the best friend one can wish for" Mana smiled "Thanks"
"All done, you can take it off now. Be careful with the needles."
"Okay... Do you want me to talk to Gacchan about it?"Közi asked in a concerned voice
"I guess it would be better to talk it out... Please do" Mana gave him a quick hug
"No problem." he smiled and took off the costume.
Gackt sighed as soon as Mana and Közi had left the room
"What's wrong this time?" Kami cocked an eyebrow
"I can't stand them being alone together" he replied, putting a cigarette to his lips
"I hate being jealous"
"You don't have to be jealous, they have been just friends for years" Kami shook his head slightly
"Oh really?It's hard not getting jealous when I find him sleeping in Közi's arms" he muttered angrily
"What?! No, Mana would never cheat" Kami gasped "really?!"
"Well,.. They claim they were only sleeping" he grumbled,the cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth
"But what if it isn't true? After all, Közi's still in love with him" the thought of Mana with another man made him furious
"I think you should talk to them... Mana isn't one who lies" Kami mused, putting a comforting ahnd on Gackt's shoulder
"He's madly in love with you, you know"
"I guess you're right" Gackt sighed, taking another drag of the cigarette before stubbing it out "atleast I hope it is"
"As long as I've known Mana he has never once lied to me" Yu~ki said tirefly, joining the conversation,
"and I haven't seen him as happy as he has been since you two became a couple"
Közi entered the room again, abruptly putting an end to the conversation
"Kami, Mana wants to check if your costume fits too" he said, then turning to Gackt
"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure" Gackt tried to not sound too upset and followed him to the small kitchen
"So what do you want?" his eyes were piercing
"I just want to ensure you that nothing, nothing, happened between me and Mana last night"
Gackt crossed his arms in front of his chest, patiently waiting for Közi to continue
"I know my feelings for him are not returned. He's my best friend and that's all I ever can hope to be" Közi sighed
"I'd never hurt him. Sabotaging to your relationship would hurt him, Mana would never forgive me for that"
"All right, that's enough" Gackt said, stopping him from saying anything more "I believe you."
"Good" Közi smiled a half-smile "and don't ever dare to hurt him in any way"
