Is it in poor taste?

So the marks are in for my two summer courses, both of which got me an A-. Not what I was hoping for, but they'll do. I was taking Studies in Fiction and Intro to Writing Fiction.

The English was no surprise, I did half-assed essays that usually net me an A-. The Creative Writing was a bit more surprising; I was getting solid B+ marks on all my stories except the last, which got me an A-. I was allowed to re-write any assignment and hand it in, and the mark for the re-write would replace the original mark, with the warning that it might be lower. I only rewrote my last one and the first one, and I guess it was worth the effort. I'm going to collect my revised/marked stories next week sometime and see what the instructor said.

The last of these stories is also one the instructor suggested I submit for publication in the book that they publish each year of the writings of their students. There are also all sorts of literary journals all over, and it would be fun to try some unsolicited manuscripts out on them. And there's always my idea for a novel. It's just a matter of sitting down and writing, I guess. Something I have little time for.

I was also looking at the submission guidelines for the D&D magazines. I mean, I am minorly obsessed with the game, and dedicate a fairly large amount of brainspace thinking about it, planning it, reading it... might as well try to make some money off this interest, right? I think I have some good ideas for adventures and campaigns. Particularly, I am in the beginning stages of planning a full-on campaign spanning levels 1-30 that would heavily involve the Far Realms and the world being destroyed. The whole thing would end after the world was collapsed into the Primal Chaos and the epilogue would be that the PCs ascended to godhood and re-made the world in their image.

I have also been discussing with a real life friend the idea of developing a campaign setting. It would be interesting to make a real go of it. I don't want to talk too much (publicly) about the idea, but I think that it has real potential, especially now that they've announced Dark Sun as next year's offering.
