Review 'Ibara no Ô'

Action / Sci/Fi / Horror Manga by Yuji Iwahara - in which a Virus, called "Medusa" is about to kill all humans. 6 Weeks after the human gets infected, the first symptoms show up - 6 hours later... the poor soul is death. Those People don't die a peaceful death, their Bodies turn into something that can only be described as stone.
But there is one hope, a rich man who lost his son to this sickness started a Project. 160 People get the chance to survive, each of them gets frozen in a ice-capsule and will be woken the day scientists found a cure. One of these 160 is Kasumi... but she doesn't want to go. Cause she has to leave her Twinsister Shizuku back to die. Together with then 159 others, she goes to sleep but when she wakes up - there is no help. There is only terror, death and angst. The Hall in which their capsuls where stored is overgrown by thorn tendrils. There is neither a doctor nor another Person besides them in the room... but there IS something else... Bats that look like Dinosaurs, Bats that Attack them, and the Panic starts. The only way out is the elevator so 170 People try to get there. They tramble down the ones who are too weak to get up, the kids and everyone else who gets in their way.... But the Elevator isn't save... it's a grave. At the End, there are seven survivors, 7 of 160: Kasumi, who was run over the very last second. A Politican, who could escape from the Elevator and killed ten others through his behaviour. A young Woman, who was nearly trambled to death. Two man who wanted to help her. A young Boy who just cried in his Panic... and a mysterious young man named Marco Owen... who didn't even TRIED to flee.
"Ibara no Ō" is a very good Manga, I like it a lot. It is interesting for people who like world-end and mysterious comics, it has some elements that make it almost impossible to stop reading! Especially since there is always something new comming up, who is that mysterious woman that follows them around?! What is Marco Owens Secret!? What happened to the scientist?! It is always exciting to wait for the next Volume! And if I'm completly honest, I start to get a heavy interst in the main Character. usually, female Main Characters are rather... plain. But not Kasumi, she had a VERY tight relationship to her sister, she would do everything for her 'idol' - the Person she always wanted to be. The second interesting Character is definitly Marco Owen, you don't know if he is a friend or a enemy. Kaumi trusts him but all the others are very nervous. Marco Owen is convicted Criminal, a Network-Hacker who manipulated CIA Data.
