Major 'Glee' rant

May 18, 2011 09:09

Ok, this is my first actual post on LJ, and it will be a massive rant on behalf of 2nd season of 'Glee'. I mean, after watching 1st season during last year's summer I've had the biggest expectations about Glee. I wanted season as good as first or even better and after summer spoilers I was waiting for this grand romance for Kurt. I wanted a guy who would chase after him, court him and love him for who he really is. I wasn't prepared for more hero-worshiping. Kurt miserable and pining and for his boyfriend to be this two dimensional, super-background character who I can describe only as Kurt's dapper boyfriend (who is also a major douche).
And also what we've got is this really cute blond jock, who is sweet and dorky and has a heart of gold. He is literally the only gentleman on Glee and his only purpose this season was to be popularity gaining tool for Quinn and Santana.
Also to add, at certain moments I was wandering if RM wanted to make Kurt less likeable this season. I mean, was it so important for Kurt as a character to pine yet for another guy? Was it necessary to make Kurt's transfer to Dalton so long? I was literally bored for half the season, coz for fucks sake, nothing was happening at the freaking Gay Hogwarts. Is it really good for Kurt to have a plot involving boyfriend who Kurt proclaims is in love with after four episodes of meeting him? And the so called love is described by Kurt in this exact words: 'No, he is just friend, but I'm in love with him. And this time he is actually gay.' For gods sake, is this really romance Kurtsies waited for? I mean, really?
I know that Kurt needs to grow up as a character, he needs to stop looking for love and realize that he doesn't need boyfriend to be happy. But why does it take so long? And why do I need to suffer trough every Klaine scene out there? Because it is painful to watch them. DC is great singer and stuff, but he just can't act. CC carries every scene in which they are together. At the beginning people were talking that CO can't play. Well, watch him now. And then compare him to DC.
On the side note CO and RM really made me reconsider who my favorite character on Glee is. And today I can honestly say that it isn't Kurt anymore. Maybe it will change after finale, but as for now it's definitely Sam Evans. RM destroyed my love for Kurt with poorly handled bullying storyline and lousy romance with dapper Blaine. Now I'm only hoping for good plot for Sam. Preferably with Kurt..
And now from Kummers point of view. If Sam won't come out in finale or if there won't be any hint to him being gay or bi than RIB really did lousy job with editing this season. I mean, reaction shots, Sam's behavior in the background while Klaine happens before his eyes. Sam's suspiciously flirty looks to Finn or Jesse. I just don't know. Why question Sam's sexuality in season not once, but twice? When all straight characters sexuality is never questioned? Just why?
And the possibilities, with Sam being in love with Kurt. Chasing him and courting. Inviting him to Color me mine or to see Avatar. Being this sweet lovalbe person, who is friends with Kurt's BFF's. Just everything I ever wanted for Kurt's boyfriend to be. An instead of that we have dapper Blaine and gay Hogwarts. This season is just meh. To be honest, I even considered not watching it anymore sometime during spring hiatus. But BTW and Rumours made me believe in Glee again. I just hope that finale will be worth me investing my feelings into this show again. Because if something really refreshing/cool/surprising/promising won't happen that it will be really hard for me to return to this show at fall. But also, there will be summer spoilers. But after this year trolling I'm not sure if spoilers are worth anything >.>

dorky sam, glee, rm is trolling
