Because I Can

I have discovered why I don't shave very often:

Besides being completely unconcerned with my appearance besides my hair and ridiculously lazy, I really only enjoy the look of my legs in certain lighting situations and climates.

If it is too cold, my legs get red splotchy which happens to most people, but since my legs are so white it's more apparent on me, and it doesn't take much for my legs to think it's "too cold."
If it's too sunny they are so white that they reflect the sun and look rather sickly and in need of some color, even though i'm not planning on tanning any tme soon....or ever.
If i am in the vicinity of someone darker than me that immediately look pale and ugly in comparison, even though i don't think they are too white.
If it's too dark outside they kind of glow which is sort of possessed looking and scary.

However, when it's just about sunset or i am in a room that is softly lit (which is almost never) the imperfections seem to melt away and their true color is revealed! They may be white in comparison, but alone:
they are the lightest shade of olive and they look healthy and beautiful (thank you pilates) and i enjoy them immensely.

The interesting part is, i am the only one who can enjoy them, because if anyone else came close enough to see them the way i do they would have their own skin in close vicinity and the comparison would inherently take place. So although someone may like what they see of my legs, they will never see what i see. And that's sort of a melancholy but exciting thought.

Still, the point is, the end might not justify the means, so i don't shave very often. I should be reading a french play right now...
