[ buffy happens to be out, doing the same exact thing. she doesn't see sookie yet, but sookie can probably hear her thoughts (which are on the sad side at the moment), as she's not too far away. ]

[ sookie expected to be alone, so the touch of someone else's thoughts are a little bit of a shock. she forces her walls higher again, her back stiffening as she looks out at the water the only sign she knows she's not totally alone. ]

[ she doesn't seem to be aware that anyone else is out here with her, either, and her arms wrap around herself as she walks - it's a beach environment, yes, but they are by the water and it gets chilly at night. the expression on her face does not look much happier than her thoughts are, but she's not aware of that either, and she passes sookie without really noticing her. ]

ahahahaha weep. also yyyyy i am for this in so many ways.

[ sookie's the first to speak up. everybody's entitled to a little bit of privacy, but with her around that can be tricky. ]

[ buffy can not read minds, and so she's a little bit startled when sookie speaks up. she doesn't let it show too much, though, just turns and gives her a small smile before nodding in agreement. ]

Yeah. I don't really get to come to the beach too often.

[ back at home, that is. she used to love it, but that was before, well, dying. ]

i adore this plan and wish to hug it.

Before I came here, I'd never really been to a proper beach. Unless you count the City, I guess. Back home we don't have beaches, not like this. I always thought it'd be nice, living someplace near one though.

[ long-winded as sookie's answer is, it makes buffy smile, and she turns towards the other blonde. ]

The beach isn't, like, right next door, but it was relatively close by. Close enough that we could go for day trips during the summer.

[ she pauses, tilting her head - she's not exactly well-versed in accents, so she can't place sookie's. except that she's from the south. ]

[ sookie's smile is a little wistful. chances to get out of her little town, she hasn't had them. ]

That sounds real nice.

[ and now her smile is just genuine, because curiosity about that elusive something more aside, sookie really is a hometown girl. ]
