To the end of the world and back... (well at least to Toronto)
hey good folks,
Issa here. I'm currently writing to you in the sweltering heat of Toronto as opposed to the sweltering heat of Ottawa. The change of sceneries is a welcome change at least for the weekend. While here, i've seen or contacted many many good folks and family and have had a crazy time over here. I drove down with Itai on the Friday afternoon. The drive down was fun because Itai and I basically talked, smoked some j's on the road and basically listened to good music all the way down. I've come to appreciate Neil Young more on this trip than i had before even though i always liked him but now, i think i'm a fan. The trip down was probably closest we got to being in a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas situation than any time before (any one who's seen the movie or read the book will know what i'm talking about) We went to visit my cousin Shuvo an hour's drive away from TO in the town of Waterloo. When we got here, the weather was plus 39 which is damn hot. But my cousin showed us a good time while we were in Waterloo. The next day around 2 PM we headed for Toronto and Shuvo and I hooked up my good friend Melanie down at her gorgeous apartment on Wellesley right in the heart of downtown. I finally met her cool roomie Joy who I've heard so much about. She was definitely cooler than i had hoped she would be. *Sigh*, it's too bad she's out of my league... waaaaay out of my league. This weekend in TO is the city's annual gay pride parade on Church street. Since Mel's apartment is about two blocks from there we decided we would check out the festivities. I have to say it was a pretty cool time aside from the naked men that sometimes ran down the street. I have no problem with whatever parade they put on, but man, some people really need to keep their clothes on!
Tonight, we are in Mississauga and we are chilling at the house of Shuvo's friend Kamran who owns a really nice house here. Last night they played Monopoly while I passed out on the couch listening to Boards of Canada.
Tomorrow is my last day in Toronto and i'm hooking up with both my good friend Katie Lafferty who has the coolest day job, working at StarTv interviewing celebrities like Pam Anderson, teh Trailer park boys and one of my favorite rock bands of the moment, The Stars. (just to name a few). Plus she's ultragorgeous. The other friend that's joining me is my friend Steve drew who is getting married back in Ottawa at the end of July. He's smart as a whip. So meeting one gorgeous ultra chick lady and one ultra smart brainiac will even out plain ole not so bright me (hehehe).
I got a call today from someone looking for a booty call but i'm not in Ottawa to take advantage of it! hahaha. Too bad though but it's definitely an ego boost for me!
Anyway, i'm short on time but i'll update once i get back to Ottawa about the crazy week i had before going to Toronto for this weekend! it's been fun that's sure!
