he's not paying attention as you play with his hair and watch the movie. you hope he notices every subtle movement that shows just how much you love him. you hold him, touch him tenderly, all the things that people in love do. you hope he can feel your love radiate through your body and out your fingertips as they catch sparks on his skin. you hope he can feel your loving gaze ever so often as you take your eyes off the plotline of the movie and focus on the plotline of the two of you. it's always been rocky, never the fairy tale story like a movie. but no one's is. you're extremely insecure, and for some reason the movie hits home. you wonder if he feels the same way. you wonder if he thinks you're the one he's meant to love-- if you're the one he loves even at all. you wonder that if every cliche line in this movie about true love leads him to believe you're not the one. and you feel pain exude from your chest, out your fingertips. you don't want to lose him. you love him so much but you feel him slipping away. it's terrifying and you don't know what to do with yourself. you try to give him space, but at the same time life is hard to bear without him near. so for now, you'll just love him the best you can.
