Smack!
I was in the Mathilda exit lane on 237 when, to me left, I hear scrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeaaaach....I look left and see a red car breaking...and....wait for it.......CRASH!
I glance back in my mirror and see the front end of the red car COMPLETELY crumple up and out as this car PLOWS into a stopped car.
I then think... okay, time for ME to freaking pay attention... so I stop looking and... non-eventfully....exit the freeway and make it to work.
Now I'm watching the accident on www.sigalert.com (copy/pasted below). This is one of 16 accidents/hazards reported.
Commuting SUCKS! (Even more for the people involved in the accident today).
I've seen sooo many accidents while commuting (on 580 from Emeryville to Livermore and now on 680/880 from Dublin to Sunnyvale)
So I guess I WANT Iran to raise oil prices, maybe if we have another gas shortage like in the 70s it will, at the very least, put more pressure on the government to give tax credits & funding towards the research and use of alternative energy sources. At the most it'd make it so expensive to drive that local metro areas would be forced to build out more public transportation to support their local economies. Sure, it'd screw up our economy for a while but we'd get over it. And I'd be okay with driving my little car just for fun on the weekends...if I had good public transportation to work.
Anyhow, be careful out there driving!
