Title: Scorpius' Christmas Wish
Words: 100
Rating: PG

Scorpius knew exactly what he wanted for Christmas; it had been on the top of his list year in and year out since he was fourteen. He just couldn't make anyone understand that it wasn't a what on the top of his Christmas list, it was a who?

A who with deep blue eyes who saw beyond his bluff; a who with freckles that Scorpius wanted to explore with his fingertips, mouth and tongue.

And this year under the charmed mistletoe at the stroke of midnight, Scorpius finally got his Christmas wish: the first of many kisses with Mr. Ron Weasley.

Title: In this moment
Words: 100

In another moment she is going to leave. In another moment her eyes are going to fill with regret and she's going to leave him alone again. In another moment she's going back to her husband and children to celebrate Christmas as family and she's going to loathe herself. Scorpius hates anticipating that moment, which always comes.

But in this moment she is kissing him wildly, the mistletoe nothing more than an excuse. In this moment, Scorpius can believe that one day, she won't go. His fingers tighten in Ginny's flame-coloured hair and he prays that this moment never ends.

Title: breathing beauty into unbeautiful things
Words: 100

Mistletoe is ugly. Full of thick leaves and horrid bristles, it’s not attractive; it’s only redeeming quality is that it bears fruit. For eleven months mistletoe is nothing, a nobody. But for one month, one month of laughter, of joy; mistletoe turns into something wonderful, something beautiful.

Scorpius understands. Scorpius isn’t beauty, he’s a Malfoy. Malfoy’s with their frosted smiles and elegant hands, shoulders heavy with honour and shame; beautiful has never been used to describe them. But when Rose laughs, or touches his arm, Scorpius can feel himself start to uncurl, like mistletoe at Christmastime.

She makes him beautiful.

“Potter has a boyfriend!”

The other students giggled. Scorpius drew his wand.

“Not worth it,” Al whispered.

“I wasn't going to hex him. I was going to get rid of this.” He pointed to the Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes Mischief-Making Mistletoe that had started been following them.

“Wouldn't work. There's only one way to get rid of it.”

“You're both idiots,” Rose said, appearing behind them. With a shake of her head, she kissed Al on the cheek, then did the same to Scorpius., causing the mistletoe to vanish.

“Next time? You're on your own.”

“We can switch if you like. You like it, but I warn you, the bed's cold. It's right next to the dungeon wall.” Scorpius told Al.

“Didn't you just spill tacks on there? By ... accident? Like that mistletoe last time?” Al was looking skeptical, but smilingly so. Scorpius was a lot like his Uncle George.

“What makes you say that? Would I do that to my best friend?” Scorpius cocked an eyebrow ironically. “Ouch!”

“You sat on them!” Al grinned, his dancing eyes as green as his bed hangings. He loved justice.

He leant back, and sat on one too.

He thinks of her every time he sees mistletoe. The green leaves, the tiny buds of white flowers, hanging in archways or hidden within the reaching arms of chandeliers. At the very sight, he is transported back to a time where he was free to be whomever he wanted, do whatever pleased him. There were no family expectations, no Pureblood prejudice. He was just a boy, and she was just a girl, and they were just in love, kissing under the mistletoe at Christmastime.

Scorpius thinks of Rose now, as he stands below the mistletoe, wishing she were with him.

Roxanne started up the stairs up her room, groaning when her mother glared at her. It was unacceptable for her to be departing on Christmas eve from the party. Their family packed the house, but Roxy was tired of their festivities.

She didn't mention that there was a mistletoe with a special gift beneath it, waiting for her.

Bedroom door opens and closes, and Roxanne leans against it with a smile.

"About bloody time," Molly says.

"Sorry," Roxanne smiles, capturing Molly's lips.

Molly pulls her cousin down to the bed, straddling her while grinning.

They had their own festivities planned.

The pair of glasses are pilfered from his hands. Rough fingers place them in their usual place, tugging his chin upwards as soon as they touch the skin of his nose.

Their kiss is brief - he loses himself with the wild things.

“How you going Hugo?”

The smile he is shown splits the other boys face, flashes and suddenly he feels like he’s being struck with lightening. Like falling from the hand of grace and plummeting. His heart flutters, halting for just fractions of a moment.

“What the fuck Scorpius?” His fist flies and he fails to notice the mistletoe.

Sirius was having trouble. Though he had returned from the Veil three months prior, he seemed uncomfortable with the Potters’ Christmas gathering. Harry watched as the man- once his senior, now his peer- shuffled the food on his plate. The guests whispered and mostly avoided Sirius, making Harry angry. But other than offering encouraging words, he didn’t know how to help his godfather.

Harry worried about Sirius’ rehabilitation all night. But when he saw Teddy take Sirius by the arm and lead him down the hall with the mistletoe, he wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or even more concerned.

Scorpius leaned against the train. "So it's good-bye until after Christmas break, Rose."

He beamed, pretending not to notice her fury. Mistletoe sprang from Rose's scalp, green leaves threading through her curls and white berries dangling around her ears like pearls. Her normally fair skin burned with embarrassment. The effect was Christmassy, Scorpius decided.

"Yep," he said, eyeing her hair. "Fourteen lo-o-ong days."

"Fine!" Grabbing his collar, she slammed her mouth onto his before immediately shoving him away. After one furious glare, she stalked away, shedding mistletoe on the platform.

Scorpius rubbed his lips together and grinned. "Happy Christmas, Rosie!"

Title: Dreams of You and Me

I dreamt of you last night. Of hair flashing reds and greens and golds. Of mistletoe kisses stolen from your lips as Celestina Warbeck sings. Of your solemn smile and soft eyes.

I dreamt of your strong arms wrapped tight around me. The scratch of your stubble across my cheek. The low whisper of your voice as you breathed my name. The smells of earth and spices and sweat clinging to your skin. Your howling laugh whilst a cracker bangs in a burst of smoke and hearts.

I dreamt of you last night. And in the dream you loved me.

Scorpius jumped at the feel of a warm body pressing him against the edge of the balcony.

“Shh,” Albus whispered in his ear, his voice like satin. “It’s me…” he said, sliding his hand under his boyfriend’s shirt to caress his smooth, flat belly.

“Gosh, Al!” Scorpius breathed, leaning his head back on Albus’s shoulder. “You nearly killed me.”

Albus chuckled at that, his hand stopping just over Scorpius’s belly button.

“Why did you stop?”

“Don’t want to kill you…” Albus replied, amused.

Scorpius growled in frustration. “You son of a - hey, look, did you know we’re under the mistletoe?”

Title: Patience
Words: 100
Rating: G

Scorpius was a patient man, but this was getting ridiculous. For three years he’d failed to catch Rose under the mistletoe. He’d convinced himself that she would never consider a romantic relationship unless he could surprise her with a holiday kiss. However, each Christmas she avoided the mistletoe. This year he had been determined that things would be different, yet somehow she’d thwarted him again.

“Sod it,” he murmured, pulling Rose into his arms and kissing her deeply despite being a dozen meters away from the plant.

“Scorpius?”

“Merry Christmas, Rose,” he smiled; delighted his patience had finally worn thin.
