And it's really kind of impossible to not be, in some way, part of a fucked up system because the entire system is fucked up and, honestly being able to avoid that is another form of privilege. I don't want to add to the profits of factory farming, but I can't afford a lot of organic or free-ranged products. I don't want to support Wal Mart, but if I had to, I would work there. I don't want to support the wars we're in (which is different, imo, than wanting to support the troops fighting them), but I have to pay taxes and some of that money goes there. I think the important thing is to recognize that the system is fucked up and work to change it however you can--some people can do this in big ways, and some people have to do it in small ways, but that doesn't make one better or worse than the other.
