It's hilarious to me that I seem to only spark the interest of Muslim men from Turkey in their early 20's...and that many of them have a profile pic that suspiciously looks exactly like Brad Pitt or Jude Law. This just cracks me up every time I get a friend request from one of them.
Graduation was great. I did manage to keep my 4.0 and also was recognized for perfect attendance and for completing 5 massages at each clinic. (We were only required to do 4). I am very pleased that I was able to reach the goals I set for myself. That's not something that will show on my license certificate, of course, but I did that for me and it feels good.
My son and his girlfriend came from Houston Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday morning so he was able to go to my graduation. That was awesome. We went out to dinner and dancing at a club after, too. First time I've really been out partying with him. We've partied at home, but I realized that we never really went out together. It was really so much fun. His birthday was Saturday, also, so it was great that I got to spend that with him. Hard to believe he is a quarter century old now, though!
Friday we went up to Sedona and did some hiking. We went to a place called Devil's Bridge that was pretty cool. Sean, Jared and Sarah all went out on it, but I just couldn't bring myself to get out there. I'm a little leery of heights, but I'm usually brave enough to overcome it anyway. I think with the head cold I was still getting over, though, my equilibrium must have been off. When I climbed up to the ledge that was just before going out on the bridge and Sean was already out on it, my head just started swimming. I've never experienced vertigo so fierce as I did right then. I just had to sit down. After I saw the pictures they took, it was evident that the bridge was much wider than it looked from my angle. They kept telling me that, but every time I stood up to try to go further I could feel myself swaying and I just couldn't move forward. I hope we can go back sometime before we leave here, though, so that I can try it again...next time with a clear head! Our camera had died, so I don't have pictures myself, but I'll get some from Sarah's flicker account and post them later.
