I bought a Canon 'nifty-fifty' today. 50mm 1.8 II, I like it a lot, it was well worth the 80$ price. I borrowed Tatton's 50mm a week ago, and since then I have pondered the 50mm 1.8 II or the 50mm 1.6 USM, the alternate was 4x's the price, and though I like the 80-85mm equivalent APS-c I think a wider and small angle lens and a macro are in the cards.
