Can you not feel it? A presence within your mind?
[He is sharing a little too much. Perhaps far too much. But Castiel seems to be relatively easy to coerce, if the network is anything to follow by. Tom is certain he can keep his mouth shut.]
[Apparition does not work, unfortunately -- a fact that Tom finds endlessly aggravating -- but Banishment certainly does. And while it takes a couple of seconds of thought to focus on the direction, Tom appears soundly with a flutter of his cloak a short distance away from Castiel, exhaling slowly as he opens his eyes.]
Unorthodox, but effective.
[It's more to himself than to Castiel, but he turns to offer the angel a thin smile.]
[Tom pauses before removing his wand from his coat, fingers brushing against it briefly before he approaches Castiel, stopping two or three feet away.]
You may feel an odd sense of dizziness, but I promise you, you will not faint. Attempt to keep yourself calm and collected -- panic will only make the process more difficult.

I don't panic.
[But he's watching the wand carefully. He doesn't know Tom that well, and he's nervous; at the same time, it's hard for him to be particularly frightened of anyone or anything by this point.]

Fear and panic are entirely separate.
[He indeed doesn't notice the change; if he'd still had his abilities, he might've, but as it is he feels nothing.
At the question, though, he doesn't answer. He's not going to share such things with someone he barely knows; the risk to trust Tom to break the mind control is one thing, talking about his feelings is another.]
Fear inevitably leads to panic should you allow it to control you.
[He locates the influence quickly, but doesn't sever it immediately. The opportunity to be within an angel's mind is far too enticing to give up -- but poking around is dangerous, and even Tom is not that full of himself -- so, with a murmured word and a flick of his wand that he does not need, the influence is shattered.

Also, after a delay, have coordinates that aren't the Temple but a few blocks from it.]

Hello.

[It's said absently, and Tom's eyes meet his.]
You only have to learn to hide it.
[And, without skipping a beat, Tom is within his mind. But he keeps speaking, to prevent Castiel from noticing anything odd.]
You haven't ever felt nervous or out of place?

Tom smiles.]
Welcome to the world of free will, Castiel.
