Head hurt
I've conceptually understood the basics of a SAN for awhile but never had to look into the details of actually building one. They are not so simple. i did get to drop 4 grand on a new server yesterday though. 2 Quad-core Xeons and 8 gigs of ram. Drooooool. *slurp slurp* According to VMware we can run about 64 concurrent vm's if we really felt like it. It'll be closer to about a dozen though.
