There's been a
plethora of
race related posts on my flist today.
Afer engaging briefly in
theferrett's post, I found myself getting mildly irritated. I get irritated when I talk about a race-related incident and I keep getting told "well maybe it wasn't". Well, maybe it was.
Remember folks: Rascism is subtle sometimes. Sometimes you don't even know that you are doing it. BUt that doesn't make it any less racist. Better to face it and accept that you aren't as perfect as you thought you were, and take the opportunity to work on yourself. The video I posted a few days ago talks about racism, and often how black people internalize it. This shows how subtle it is. If a person who is black can be racist against their own people, why can't a well intentioned white person be?
