What I find interestinf is that the pagentry and memorials of the 3rd Reich has it's history in Roman design and influence. The columns of light in the "Cathedral of Light" remind me very much or roman arhcitecture but placed in a more Greek Pantheon of Gods with the stars.
Regardless, the Roman Empire was corrucpted by power and greed. There were many evil things the Empire did. So was true of the Nazis. Yet they have memorials and monuments that stand th test of time and have iconic imagery firmley planted into our minds. So too can be said about the Bush administration.
The memorials we have in Washington D.C. do not speak of the innocent deaths and cruelty. They speak of glorification of power and the lives given to achieve that power and greatness that is the country from which they represented.

P.S. - Like all art, people are moved with emotion. What they come away with in the end is a personal experience that has meaning for them. It may not be the same meaning as intended by the artist/creator, nor may it be the same meaning that the person standing next to you gets. The meaning/response is personal. As most good art experiences should be. Discussions and criticisms can follow after along with the cheap wine and cheese. LOL!!!!!!! ^_^
