i have to sell my beloved car. between the upkeep here in Manhattan, and past due bad Karma, i have to sell her.
i'd prefer to sell her in Massachusetts as she is still registered there as I haven't yet transferred over everything.
She has some dents and dings in her, but her interior is pretty intact, and her engine is extremely solid. she's peppy on the road, fun to drive, a great stopper, and is rated extremely safe in her class.
she has plenty of room and is a hatch back. you can move at least 12 cases of wine in her at a single time, if that gives you some indication of her roominess.
yes, the back seat is small. the front seat is extremely roomy. i have known people who are 6'5" and have driven their New Beetles quite comfortably, so that's not an issue.
she has a clutch, a sunroof, a 6 CD changer, and is Turbo Charged. i have driven her up to 120 MPH and she did not break a sweat.
the Kelly Blue Book prices her at $7600. i'm not really one for haggling. i think it's pointless. we all go to the same sources to look up the book value, so you know what is a fair price to pay, and i know what is fair to ask, and so, there you go.
before i list her on Craigslist, i'd like to try and do this through my friends, as she is more than just a car to me. i'm really sad i can't keep her, and i would like her to go to a good home.
if you, or anyone you know, is in need of a fabulous little car, who drives well in rain, blizzards, and all the rest of it, please let me know.
one last thing: her windshield was cracked last week. i still have her under insurance through Plymouth in Cambridge. i'd like to just have the insurance pay for that. ideally, i could bring her up sometime in the next three weekends and call to have her fixed. i would cancel the insurance post fixing so that it is of no cost to the purchaser or myself.
email me at my LJ addy.
OK. that's it.
